Hi, my name is Petra. I founded Women’s Sports Nation when my toddler girls started getting interested in sports. I started to research topics about girls in sports and I was frustrated with the information I found online. Which sport to choose? How do you motivate kids to get and stay active?

So I decided to change that.

I know that there are plenty of places where you can find information about how to get fit or how to run your first marathon—but I’ve found that those sites don’t really talk about what it’s like being a woman in sports, or how you can support each other when things get tough out there on the field.

Women’s sports nation

At Women’s Sports Nation, we’re all about empowering women and girls through sport. We want to help you find the best sport for your girl or yourself, and give you the tools and motivation you need to get them active. We’re building the biggest online community of women in sports because we believe that women deserve better.

Better conditions. Better pay. Better access to sports. And, most of all, better recognition.

What we believe

We believe that girls and women should be able to do whatever they want – and they should have support along the way, whether they’re playing soccer or skiing or golfing or just trying out something new for the first time.

We also believe that sports should be fun, inclusive, and safe for everyone.

Our goal

Our goal is to help girls and women find opportunities in sports, connect them with other people who share their passion for the same sports, learn from them about what works and what doesn’t – and get inspired by their stories of success!

We want to give women in sports the platform they deserve. We are here to celebrate the achievements of incredible sports girls and sportswomen around the world and provide a space for discussion.

We know that there’s still a lot of work to be done, but we’re committed to making progress. So join us on this journey as we build a better future for women in sports!

Sincerely,
Petra
